The Challenge

For the fourth year in a row, SwingDaddy participated in an event to raise funds for early cancer detection. He rode 100 miles!  We met him at the finish line.

The event "Kids Zone" had candy bags, a bounce house,

and a balloon artist.

In the evening, SwingDaddy and I went to the celebratory dinner.

It was so beautiful, with lights strung under the redwood trees.

Next year, maybe the rest of us will join in for the 5K.

Opening night of Pippin in San Francisco!

I saw the production on Broadway last year and was glad to see them come to town.

We had a blast and got to meet some of the leading actors (and their dogs) after the show.

The corporate campus where I work has many, many interesting fountains, all of which were turned off in a fit of frugality about ten years ago.  They look sort of sad and abandoned, and I wonder if they should just be repurposed as something else.

I've never even see the fountain above in action.  I'll bet it'd be beautiful in the summer - sprays of water falling on the rounded rocks.

School Art

A sketch of the Royal Palace with flag on top.  He notes that he drew the Stortinget on another project, which I'm looking forward to seeing!

Other school art: All About Me

I am 6 years old
This is where I live

This is my family
This is my favorite toy - a lightsaber

This is my favorite TV show - Mythbusters
Here is my best friend - his cousin, who he notes often wears black shirts.

Here is what I want to be some day - a Lego Builder!  I think he wants to work for Lego headquarters.

Mowing the Lawn

The first graders have been growing some different kinds of grass seed in paper cups, which they refer to as their "lawn."  Yesterday, they "mowed the lawn" with scissors.

Author Time

Author John Scalzi came into town to promote latest book.  I'm a huge fan of his blog (Whatever.) The autograph line was insane, so I didn't stay, but the Q&A was highly entertaining.
