Food and Friends, the Return of

When I wrote yesterday's post about our annual holiday dinner, I searched for last year's dinner story about couldn't find it.  It turns out that I never got around to writing about it!  So here it is, 13 months late.  Last year's theme was the 1950's.

We all contributed dishes from a 1950's cookbook assigned by our hostess.  We brought bacon-wrapped SPAM hors d'oeurves. The SPAM was mandatory as a classic 1950's item, and we chose bacon, because who doesn't love bacon?

Yep, they pretty much tasted like bacon, so it worked out fine.

Our hostess in a picture-perfect 50's pose.

A few gift highlights: I received a charming mini-hat.

While dressed as the Yellow Peril, our friend received the perfect cartoon complement.

The boys were thrilled with the rainbow jello.

From one century to another!
