100 Days of K

Friday was the 100th day of school.  I don't remember it being a big deal when I was growing up, but here in kindergarten, it's a big deal. The kids drew pictures and made medallions.

Counted up 100 Froot Loops and made necklaces.

And filled a baggie with 100 things from home.  Legos were pretty popular among the other kids too.

I happened to be in class volunteering that day, so I got to see some of the Froot Looping.  Very diligent counting by small people.

My task was to cut construction paper into the right sizes for their projects next week.  140 white squares, 2.5x2.5"; 140 lavender rectangles, 7x5" and so forth.  Weirdly, I find it kind of fun to work out what layout will get me the maximum number of shapes per page.
