Accidentally On Purpose

I went for a walk after dinner with my colleague tonight, and came across a neon sign. One of the letters was shaky and kept blinking in and out.

Blink. The sign says, "LAUGHTER." Blink. It says, "SLAUGHTER."

As I got closer, I saw that it was mounted on a piece of installation art in front of the Nobel Peace Center. The sign made no mention of the neon word above.

What do you think (without checking Wikipedia)? Deep, artistic juxtaposition of joy and sorrow? Or faulty wiring setup?

I'm going to vote for deep and artistic. Especially given that it's mounted on installation art, and in front of the Nobel Peace Centre.

I Googled it anyway, out of curiosity.

Shouldn't say anything until tomorrow.

I'm going to guess it's deliberate. Curious now!

Yes--I think it was meant to make a point.

The S neon sign of this center is of a different color, so it is deliberate.

Yep, I agree that it's part of the art. I just wonder why the placard doesn't mention the neon letters at all. It's like it's a separate art installation or something.
