The Sum Total of Movies That I’ve Seen

. . . in the theater since my children were born: 5

Yep, FIVE.

2005: Star Wars III (Revenge of the Sith)
2005: Harry Potter IV (Goblet of Fire)
2007: Harry Potter V (Order of the Phoenix)
2008: Indiana Jones IV (Kingdom of the Crystal Skull)
2009: Harry Potter VI (Half Blood Prince)

I seem to have something for sequels.

To feel a little less lame, I will remind myself that the number of (dance) performances I’ve been in outstrips the number I’ve watched (on film, in any case) in that same period.

We saw HP6 this weekend and really enjoyed it. Those kids have become really fine actors, and not one of them has ended up a tabloid train wreck. I loved the little details like Harry wearing a nice shirt, tie, and suit jacket with sneakers. Because when is a parentless teenaged boy going to go shopping for dress shoes? Now I want to re-read the whole series.

In theaters since child? Only a couple, with the child. None without child.

1. Happy Feet - she made me leave early.
2. Enchanted.

I've only seen a few, and one of them was Borat. What a waste of a childfree movie.

I really want to see Julie and Julia, though.

I can't remember exactly how many I've seen in the theatre, I think it was 5 but it could have been 4 or 6. Anyways, we're in the same boat. And one of the movies I saw was Wall-E, with a 3-year-old in tow.

Ah, the glamour. ;)

I have been out to see two adult movies since Andrew was born, but have seen a bunch of movies with Andrew (and Connor). Pretty much every kid movie that has come out in the last year we have seen in theaters. I actually really want to see the new Transformers movie - must be the boys rubbing off on me!

Since my first was born, I don't think I've even been to the cinema for a non-kid movie!

OH wait, yes, I went one time. Sigh.
