“So-and-so’s mommy.”
“I want to say hi!”
“Ok.”
The other little boy got on the phone.
Friend: Hi
Q-ster: Hi
Silence.
Muffled prompting.
Friend: See you tomorrow!
Me (whispering): Say, ‘see you tomorrow.’
Q-ster: See you tomorrow!
End scene and fade to black. The little dude’s first phone conversation with a friend. There’s not a lot to say yet, but they chatter endlessly in person, so I’m not worried.

An unrelated tale from last week: I was changing from my office clothes into plain “home” clothes that can tolerate drool and baby snuggles when Q-ster pointed at my flowered blouse and said, “That’s pretty. You should keep it on, Mommy.”
Awww. I think I need to upgrade my home clothes!

I get that kind of clothing compliment any time I wear anything other than jeans. Because all I ever wear is jeans. :)
My 7-year-old still doesn't really know how to carry on a phone conversation. Yet she has already informed me that she wants a cell phone "and you have to pay the bill every month too."
praise from your own kid-priceless
Hee hee! Reminds me of my son hitting redial and calling my husband at work. He just kind of smiled into the phone.
How cute your boy expresses an opinion about what you wear!
I love your blog masthead! I haven't been surfing lately so you've probably had it for months...
