Parents of Girls Will Never Believe Me

Q's little friend celebrated her birthday today, and he volunteered, "That was fun!" as we got in the car to go home. He'd jumped off stacked mats, dangled from bars, and trotted across the balance beam. What could be more delightful than doing that with friends, plus cake?

When we got home, he carefully emptied the goody bag. The sparkly blowout was a big winner. Next he found a bright blue necklace. "Oh wow!" he said and promptly placed it around my neck. Then he examined the drawing on the bag.

"Who are these guys?" he said, quizzically. Oh honey, don't let the princess industry know that there's one person left on the planet that doesn't know them yet!

Hooray for not exposing him to the princesses!

It has been a battle (especially w/ a certain Grandparent) but Jimmy still has no idea who any of the Disney characters are besides the Little Einsteins. No Mickey in this house!

Q never fails to bring a smile to my face, I mean never and today I laughed outloud at "who are these guys". Priceless.

I suspect Ramekin wouldn't have a clue about them either... But he'd have liked the necklace, too. ;-)

Ha! You're right, it's very hard to imagine a world without princesses!

Cute... but I wouldn't sweat the whole "Princess" thing. They are essentially harmless.

I WISH mine didn't know who they were! It's amazing what they pick up, even if you aren't the one to expose them to it...

We took K to disney on ice yesterday. When mickey and minnie came out she excitedly pointed out the mice... funny. the princess completely did not interest her either.... however if a horse would have shown up...

I'm proud to say, Laurel (and Ian) has no clue who they are either. I'm sure it's just a matter of time.
