A Measure of Success

I have distant memories of a particular TV interview I saw as a teen. It was a comedian or actor, perhaps Tom Hanks.

Host: How has success changed you?

Star: You know when you buy a bag of pistachio nuts, there are always a few that are hard to get open?

Host: Yes?

Star: I don't worry about those anymore.

Sick, sick, sick today. One big blessing: During my pregnancy with Q, I fretted about whether having children was the right thing for us, for me. This time around, the little guy comes up and snuggles and asks for another story, and I know that it's the right thing.

I remembered that you told me about the pistachio nuts story. It was by a member from a famous rock group (guitar player probably). I've retold this story many times - funny :).

The possible rock groups are:- Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Police

Knowing is great.

I just realized with all this baby booming going on that I'm done. My family is complete as is. And knowing that is on par with knowing that having the kids in the first place was the right thing to do.

I recall a similar interview - no idea with whom - where the celebrity revealed that he instinctively saves Ziploc bags for re-use, only to recall that he's a star - he can afford to buy new ones. (It seems to me this was before environmental awareness was quite as strong as it is now.)

this post made me smile. i suppose, it takes knowing where you're going to really "stomach" the puking, doesn't it?

hope Swimmy is being kind.

Good, no make that great news...

The sicker you are, the healthier the baby.

Just some positive thinking.
