Disturbing Trend in Plush

You know how weird it is when you see a red carpet pictures of a favorite movie star and her face looks oddly . . stretched? At first, I'll think – well, maybe that's just an unflattering hairstyle. Later, however, there's no denying that someone has had some work done.

Well, these favorite friends have gone under the knife, and it's a bit odd looking. As seen at Walt Disney World – an almost unrecognizable Piglet among Poohs, as well as rotund Donald Ducks. It's hard to tell from the photos, but they are almost perfectly spherical. I'm a big fan of round and cute, but I think they've gone too far!

In other news, I have resorted to outright bribery for kisses from Q.
"Goldfish crackers, mama?"
"Kiss mama first."
Worth every cracker.

I often demand kisses first. And those plushes are creepy and just plain wrong.

I'm with ya on the "kiss mommy first" thing... Most of the time, Jet laughs about it now and kisses me. Sometimes I'll say, "Oops! You missed! Try again!" Tee-hee... I'll get five or six kisses using that one!

nice plan with the kisses. and yeah, tpiglette showed me the round scary piglet a while ago. they're cute, but they're just not winnie-the-pooh anymore. if they made a penguin one, though, i would soooo buy it.

Anything to wring more consumer products out of the brand, I suppose!

Oh no! You don't like them? :( When Brian and I were at Disneyland last summer, we got the Piglet one and also a Tigger one. They were the only ones we thought weren't too strange. I guess I just like round pigs though. :)

I agree with K that they're not Winnie-the-Pooh anymore, but I still think the ones we have are (hilariously) cute! When Brian's family saw the round Tigger, they (well, his dad) dubbed him "Tiggerball." Oh boy...

I guess I had a combination of fascination with the cute aspect, and disturbance from the "someone I know has been trapped inside a sphere and can't get out" effect. In the end, I decided we couldn't bring one home!

Even the POOH's look just.. wrong.

Don't like the round look. Bring back the originals!

(And sounds like bribery at its best - love it!)

i used to think that they look odd, but after gettin a pair of them (they were at a super discounted price), i began to think that they're pretty adorable in their own way. not the donald duck one though. somehow, pooh and piglet suit the (erm) look.

I highly disagree. After having purchased an egg piglet, I can tell you you have not experienced happiness until you experience spherical happines.
