Napped and Ready for More Nappage

I think that "Not getting sick" is the largest thing I accomplished this weekend. Earlier today, I was a bit grumpy, thinking I had frittered away the weekend without getting much done. But really, a collection of naps helped me recover from a tough work week, and what's not to love about getting silly baby kisses while the three of us sing endless rounds of Frere Jacques in three languages?

SwingDaddy is putting together plans for a SuperBowl party, even though sadly, his beloved Chargers are not going. We used to have alternate entertainment in the form of a costume-sewing room for those who weren't football fans, but needles and pins aren't going to cut it with toddlers running around. Instead, he's promising Tickle Me Elmo, who has quite a successful track record of fascinating our friends.

One last SuperBowl tidbit – Does anyone else think that the side view of the Indianapolis Colts helmets make them look like they've been kicked in the head by a horse?

Personally I think not getting sick is a hell of an accomplishment.

I just WISH the Colts had been kicked in the head by horses.

Whoops. Did I say that in my out-loud voice?

We've been plagued with colds the past three days, with fevers, runny nose and coughing. So, we're heading to the doc's office today. I just hope I don't get sick.

As for the Chargers, my condolences to your hubbie. It was my beloved Patriots that beat them last week and they were beaten by the Colts last night. Boo hoo hoo. But it was still a good season.

Cute comment about the helmets. If the logo were upside down, it would look even more realistic (kicked by a hind leg).

So funny - I actually felt that not getting sick was big for me too... seriously. My aunt and cousins were seriously ill with bad colds, fevers and coughs and I delivered lasagna. I scrubbed down and changed clothes but I thought... oh no... so I took it easy and vitamins... and so far, big accomplishment! you must have really needed the sleep. good job !

Hee--part of my nightly bedtime routine with Opie is a Frere Jacques series. 1) English version with made-up words, featuring his name; 2) Spanish version learned on Dora the Explorer; 3) original French.

Glad you are not sick!

You've done one better than me! I've had a head cold for a week, and this morning when I woke up - no voice! An hour later, I have a Deitrich voice: deep and sultry. I'm entertaining myself by singing in a voice an octave lower than normal...

I Was wrong. The colt's helmet does look like it's being kicked by a horse's hind leg. I had the image flipped in my mind.

I didn't totally escape. I've got a runny nose, but haven't completely fallen apart. :)

Ha! I'm glad that others agree with the Colts helmet look.

Mayberry - we haven't learned the Spanish version yet. Will be fun!
