Now That He Can Turn on the Stove, Any Chance He'll Cook Dinner?

Q has figured out how to turn on the gas burners on our stove.

We ordered guard covers for the control knobs tonight. The product reviews are pretty mixed, unfortunately. Several said that their kids were the only ones who could manage to turn the knob-guards and that the adults could no longer use the stove. If we have to remove the knobs entirely, that's fine, but we're hoping to avoid that.

I'm hoping that this leads to an early interest in producing well-balanced meals for the family, but I'm not holding my breath.

Updated for photo credit.

don't be too sure - when i was nannying for JB, he taught me how to make way better scrambled eggs and how to steam broccoli - this little 5-year-old! okay, so admittedly bubs is starting a little earlier than JB, but that's just 'cause he's such an advanced child. ;)

Ack! Just yesterday both of my kids were working together to see if they could pull open the oven door. Little punks.

That is one of my fears... Especially after my dog turned on the gas on our stove last Christmas... (reaching for the turkey of course). Let me know if you deter him...

Ugh. That is scary. Q can almost reach the stove and I'm fearful.

Hey, maybe instead of installing those knobs, we should get everyone's kids and dogs together and parcel out the cooking chores!
